Concert at Emmanuel Cathedral

The Music Director of Emmanuel Cathedral has pleasure in announcing that the ‘Arise O Man’ classical choral Men’s Chorus will be staging a concert at Emmanuel Cathedral on Women’s Day, August 9th 2012 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available from Computicket at R90.00.
This chorus is a combination and collaborative effort of male groups from 3 continents: Africa, Europe and North America. The individual men’s choruses include:
• the Oregon Adventist Men’s Chorus (USA);
• the Orlando West Male Chorale and SDASA Chorale, (Soweto)
• the Remnant Male Chorale (Eastern and Western Cape) and
• the Botswana Men’s Chorus.
Each performance will have a total of more than 150 voices!
The Arise O Man Chorus will host its inaugural nation-wide festival of music from 4 -11 August 2012. The Durban leg of the festival will take place on Thursday 9 August 2012, in the Emmanuel Cathedral at 15h00 (3:00pm).
The overall vision of the tour is encapsulated in the following statement: “Arise O Man (also one of the hymns in the repertoire) which is a reminder to communities of South Africa, through the ministry of music, that every man – young and old – is a unique and valued creation of God, and is encouraged to take up his rightful place in society”.
