SECAM: JUSTICE AND PEACE CHAIRPERSONS AND OTHERS MEET

134 Delegates from 46 countries in Africa met in Mumemo, Mozambique to reflect upon and discuss the Message and Propositions generated by the Second Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Africa in Rome in October 2009.  The theme of the Assembly was “The Church in Africa in Service of Reconciliation, Justice and Peace.”

BISHOPS OF AFRICA BEGIN SYNOD IMPLEMENTATION

In his homily at the concluding Mass of the Synod in October 2009, Pope Benedict said “Courage, get on your feet, take up your bed and walk continent of Africa that welcomed our Saviour when as a child he had to flee with Joseph and Mary into Egypt.”
