St. Joseph’s Theological Institute, Cedara, announces a Public Lecture on the ‘New Roman Missal’ entitled Praying as a community with the revised Roman Missal and its translation.
The lecture by Fr David N. Power OMI will take place on Saturday 7 July 2012 at St Anne’s Parish, 585 Randles Road, Sydenham, Durban, beginning at 09h00.
The lecture is open to all parishioners, candidates to the diaconate and anyone wishing to understand the liturgy better so as to be able to consciously and actively participate in the Church’s worship.
Fr. David N. Power OMI, is professor emeritus in the School of Theology and Religious Studies, the Catholic University of America, where he taught full time from 1977-2000. Since taking retirement he has taught at theological institutes in Canada, French Polynesia, and South Africa (SJTI).
He has written extensively on sacramental theology and liturgy. He has authored 12 books, the latest being Mission, Ministry, Order: Reading the Tradition in the Present Context (London & New York: Continuum Publishing Group, 2008). Since 2010, he lives in Lusaka, Zambia.
